After, a long day of stress, self-care becomes a difficult part of our daily plan. However, the importance of it is also overlooked.
With self-care, we can recharge ourselves. Please bring us to enjoy a daily activity to close out our day. It can be as simple as making a cup of tea and curling up on the couch watching your favorite show or reading a book. It also doesn’t have to be for a long time; it can be for 15 minutes.
This can help our brains refresh itself and reduce the stress we hold daily. Because if we look at it externally our lives continuously repeat the same stressful cycle. If we don’t provide that little break to our mind and body at some point in the cycle, it will become too much to handle. I always use the metaphor of a glass of water becoming full and spilling, just like the amount of stress we hold on a daily basis. If you don’t empty the glass, there will be no more room to add on. Thus if you do not destress, you will overload yourself with stress. For that purpose, by utilizing a self-care routine during your day, you give yourself some room to pile on the new day’s stress. Remember you don’t always have to incorporate a self-care routine in the evenings, it can also be in the mornings. Depending on if you’re a night owl or a morning bird.
So I ask; what is your self-care routine? what is your goal time to perform your routine?
Also, are you a morning or night person?
